On 3-6 of June, Mr. LI Yongku, Deputy Auditor General (Accountability Audit), heading a delegation attended the 15th meeting of INTOSAI WGEA, held in Tallinn, Estonia. After the meeting, the delegation visited the State Audit Office (SAO) of Hungary.
The INTOSAI WGEA meeting was hosted by the National Audit Office of Estonia, Chair and Secretariat of INTOSAI WGEA. About 158 delegates from 70 Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) and several international organizations attended. The meeting approved the WGEA documents compiled during 2011-2013 and the new work plan for 2014-2016. On behalf of Mr. LIU Jiayi, Auditor General of CNAO and Chairman of ASOSAI WGEA, Mr. LI Yongku presented the progress report and arranged a meeting of ASOSAI WGEA at the meeting.
On 7 June, Mr. LI Yongku visited the State Audit Office of Hungary. The delegation was received by Mr. László Domokos, President of the State Audit Office of Hungary. In his welcoming words, Domokos presented the transformation of the government auditing system in Hungary, focusing mainly on the internal controls of government bodies audited. He highlighted ‘Order creates value’ and added that without regular audit the expansion of Hungary would be impossible and economic and social problems could not be overcome.
In this bilateral meeting, Mr. LI Youngku introduced the accountability audits carried out in China, and the experiences regarding the audit of international organizations. The SAO experts shared their experience on audit of state property management, the system of auditing of political parties, and the SAO’s role in fighting against corruption.
