The 3rd CNAO-GAO Audit Seminar on "Performance Audits of Programs Designed to Secure the Well-Being and Financial Security of its Citizens" was heldin the headquarters of National Audit Office of China (CNAO)from 6 to 7 September 2016. Mr. LIU Jiayi, Auditor General of CNAO attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Ms. QIN Boyong, Deputy Auditor General of CNAO chaired the opening ceremony.Mr. Daniel Garcia-Diaz from Government Accountability Office of United State (GAO), delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of GAO, the co-host of the seminar.
Besides representatives from CNAO and GAO, representatives from SAIs of South Africa, Australia, Indonesia and Brazil attended the seminar. Representatives exchanged experiences and ideas on social security audit programs such as audit on affordable houses, medical security fund, higher education fund and various cases to realize SDGs etc.
The CNAO-GAO Audit Seminarwas initiated based on the memorandum between CNAO and GAO signed in 2012 and SAIs of China and US have taken turns in hosting three events so far.
